A set of exhaust nozzles for the F-14D Tomcat in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. A 3D printed replacement for the engine nozzles with faithfully executed interior detail. Intended for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This detail set is not an airplane model but an accessory for a kit of the carrier fighter Grumman F-14D Tomcat in 1:72 scale. The nozzles are printed by 3D technology by the Czech firm Eduard and replace the simplified plastic parts with a complete, finely structured rendering including the inner faces of the nozzles and the flame holder rings. The set is designed for the Tamiya kit.
The F-14D was the most modern production version of the Tomcat. Compared with the older machines it received more powerful General Electric F110 engines and modernized avionics. The exhaust nozzles are a prominent element at the rear of the aircraft that is usually rendered only in simplified form out of the box, so replacing them raises the realism of a finished model markedly.
Separate the parts from the print supports, clean them up and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. It pays to pre-shade the inside of the nozzles and to bring out, with a dry brush, the metal shades and the traces of thermal stress that are typical of jet nozzles.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
