Responsibility details are not available.
A finished collector model in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit: it is supplied assembled, painted and with the markings applied, so nothing needs doing with it and it goes straight into the display case. The model carries the markings of a Swiss Air Force machine from the summer of 1943, that is, from the time when neutral Switzerland operated equipment from both warring sides.
The Fi 156 Storch was a German liaison and observation aircraft famous for its ability to take off and land on the smallest of surfaces. This was made possible by full-span high-lift devices along the wing and by long landing gear legs with a lot of travel, which absorbed a hard touchdown. It was powered by an air-cooled inverted V8. For a mountain country such an aircraft was exceptionally useful: it reached meadows and patches of ground where an ordinary machine would have no chance.
A kit gives the modeler freedom: the colors, the markings and the degree of wear are his own choice and the result is one of a kind. A finished model, by contrast, offers the certainty of an exactly specified version, a uniform look across the whole collection and the immediate option of standing it in a display case. Collections of finished models therefore grow in series, where one machine complements the next.
