An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M4A3E2 Jumbo assault tank in 1:72 scale from the Fast Assembly line by Italeri. The set is intended for a quick build with a lower part count and the box usually holds two models. The decals offer unit marking options.
The M4A3E2 Jumbo was the heavily rearmored assault version of the famous Sherman. It received markedly thicker frontal hull armor as well as a new heavy cast turret and was intended to break through fortified positions at the head of an attack. Because of the added weight it was slower; only a few dozen were built, and they proved themselves in the fighting in northwestern Europe in 1944 and 1945. Its heavy protection made it a favorite breakthrough tank that commanders liked to place at the head of a column. Some vehicles were rearmed in the field with the more powerful 76 mm gun.
Cut the parts off and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Paint the running gear before closing the hull and only then fit the wheels and the tracks. Pick out the base in the olive green shade (Olive Drab) with a wash into the panels, add scuffed armor with a dry brush and create mud effects on the running gear with pigments; add the white stars and tactical numbers from the decal sheet.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
