British methyl bromide extinguisher (1:72) is a resin modeling accessory from Firma49 for bringing smaller dioramas and equipment of the Second World War to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin (3D printed) accessory in 1:72 scale is not a vehicle kit but a small part for dressing up dioramas, armored equipment or aircraft models. It captures the period British fire extinguisher filled with methyl bromide from the era of the Second World War. Even in this small scale the 3D print holds legible edges and the basic detail of the body of the extinguisher.
Methyl bromide (bromomethane) was a British extinguishing agent from the interwar period until roughly the 1950s. It was used in handheld as well as built-in extinguishers of tanks, vehicles and aircraft, because it smothered fuel fires effectively. Because of its high toxicity it was later replaced, so today it is a characteristic feature of period equipment.
Given the small size of the part, work with tweezers. Wash the part in lukewarm water with detergent, separate it from the carrier block carefully and glue it with cyanoacrylate. We recommend a filler primer and painting with an airbrush; a fine wash into the recesses will bring the detail out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin part. Glue, paints and the basic model are not included in the package.
