The exhaust nozzle for the MiG-21R in 1:72 scale from Czech manufacturer Eduard. A resin, or rather 3D-printed, replacement engine nozzle with faithful internal detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
This detailed set is not an airplane model, but an accessory for the kit of the reconnaissance version of the MiG-21R fighter in 1:72 scale. The nozzle from Czech manufacturer Eduard is made using fine casting and 3D-printing techniques and replaces the simplified plastic part with a complete rendition, including the interior surfaces and the flame-holder ring.
The MiG-21R was a reconnaissance variant of the popular Soviet supersonic fighter MiG-21, powered by an engine from the Tumansky design bureau. The exhaust nozzle at the tail is a prominent feature on a finished model, and a faithful rendition noticeably increases the realism.
Separate the part from the casting block or print supports, clean it up, and glue with cyanoacrylate. It is worth pre-shading the interior of the nozzle and dry-brushing the metallic and scorched shades typical of jet engines.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
