A resin add-on for models of the Dassault Mirage 2000 in 1:72 scale. According to the name, the package contains two pieces of external fuel tanks of the RPL 501 and RPL 502 types, of 1700 liters capacity. The parts are made by 3D printing, so they have a fine surface and clearly rendered detail of the pylon attachments and the filler points.
The Mirage 2000 is a French single-engine combat aircraft with a delta wing, powered by a SNECMA M53 jet engine. It served and serves with the French Air Force and with a number of other users and it is built as a multirole machine for air combat as well as for attacks on ground targets. French machines use several types of large external tanks, which differ from one another in capacity as well as in shape; the RPL designation distinguishes the individual versions. On the Mirage 2000 the tanks make up a conspicuous part of the silhouette and on a model swapping them for the wrong ones shows.
Wash the printed parts with lukewarm water and detergent, so that residues left over from printing are removed. Cut the supports and the casting blocks off with a fine saw, sand the area down and use respiratory protection while sanding. They are bonded with super glue. The tanks have large smooth areas on which a well sprayed primer stands out, and so does any unevenness, so check the surface against the light before the color coat. The painting is usually matched to the scheme of the aircraft; a fine wash around the panel lines and the attachments gives the part depth.
