Responsibility details are not available.
This set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale captures the advance detachments of the Brunswick corps of the Napoleonic wars. It is supplied unpainted. The manufacturer does not state the number of pieces, so check it on the packaging.
The Brunswick corps grew out of the army of Duke Frederick William, who after losing his territory carried on the fight against France in British service. The units dressed in black, which earned them the nickname the Black Corps, and they wore a skull and crossbones as their badge. The advance detachments, that is, the avant-garde, formed the light element of the corps: they went first, scouted the ground and screened the main force. The corps distinguished itself in Spain and again at Waterloo, where the duke fell.
The black uniform is a trap: if it stayed pure black, the figure would look like a silhouette. Use a very dark gray as the base instead and lighten the edges of the folds by two tones; real black belongs only in the deepest shadows. The white straps and the light trim will then stand out by themselves. Work the faces up, because on a dark figure they carry all the expression.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
