Injection-molded plastic kit of the jet aircraft North American T-39N Sabreliner in 1:72 scale from Sword. This is a short-run (limited-run) kit, with the typical fine surface engraving and more delicate part fit. We recommend checking the exact package contents and the number of marking options for this item against the specific boxing.
The Sabreliner started out as a civilian twin-engine business jet that the US Air Force and Navy adopted for a range of military roles. The T-39N version served as a trainer for radar navigation and weapons-systems training in naval aviation. The small, slender twin-jet, with its engines mounted low on the sides of the rear fuselage, was known for good flying characteristics and a long service career.
As with short-run kits, first dry-fit the parts, clean up the mold seams, and glue the joints with a thin liquid cement for plastic. Fit the cockpit glazing carefully and use masks. Apply a primer before painting; the smooth surfaces of a jet aircraft reward a good gloss coat under the decals and a subtle wash on the panel lines at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
