Injection-molded plastic model of the Opel Blitzbus Ludewig bus in 1:72 scale from Roden. This is the streamlined Aero version bodied by the Ludewig coachbuilder on the chassis of the three-ton Opel Blitz truck. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts, clear parts for the glazing and a decal sheet.
During the 1930s the Ludewig company built buses of its own design on Opel Blitz chassis. The Aero form was marked out by a rounded nose, an aerodynamic body and a pair of vertical stabilizing fins behind the rear of the vehicle. The buses served in civilian traffic and later carried passengers for the armed forces as well.
The rounded body calls for careful alignment and filling of the joints, so the model will suit a more experienced builder. Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic; fit the glazing only after the paintwork is done, so that it does not fog. Lay down a primer and paint with an airbrush in thin coats. A striking civilian livery comes alive on a smooth gloss base; the panels can be picked out gently with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
