Prussian Landwehr in action, 1:72 from HäT: fifty-six unpainted plastic figures in eight poses from the Napoleonic Wars.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains fifty-six figures of the Prussian militia, the so-called Landwehr, in 1:72 scale and in eight different poses capturing combat activity. The figures are unpainted and are supplied on sprues, some in several parts, so that the total number of pieces in the package is higher than the number of figures. The height of a figure works out at roughly twenty-three and a half millimeters, which for 1:72 scale means a real man of around one hundred and seventy centimeters.
The Prussian Landwehr came into being in 1813 as a popular militia called into the fight against Napoleon. It was not a regular army: the men came in plain clothing, the equipment was varied and the training short, but the motivation high. Its distinguishing marks were a cap with a cross and an ordinary jacket in place of a uniform. The Landwehr took part in the campaign of 1813 as well as in the final battles, and in modeling it is popular precisely for that variety.
Separate the figures carefully from the sprue and level the remains of the gates with a sharp blade. Before gluing, try the glue on a piece of sprue, because on soft plastics ordinary plastic cement may not hold and super glue will serve better. Apply a primer and paint in layers, from a dark base to lighter areas. With a militia you can allow yourself variety: not every figure has to have the same shade of trousers and jacket.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
