The Yakovlev Yak-18 on skis 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet trainer in its winter form from Amodel.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet two-seat trainer Yakovlev Yak-18 in 1:72 scale from Amodel. This boxing adds ski landing gear for winter operation, so the model builds into the typical flying-club and training machine on snow. The set contains a clear part for the canopy.
The Yak-18 was a basic trainer that in the postwar years replaced older types in the training of Soviet pilots and in the flying clubs grouped under DOSAAF. It was a reliable and simple machine on which whole generations of airmen learned; it also served in a number of other countries. The ski landing gear allowed operation from unpaved, snow-covered surfaces.
This is a short-run kit, so expect to clean the parts up sensitively and to try them dry before gluing. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them down. We recommend a primer under the paint, an airbrush and light weathering; a winter scene stands out with a base covered in snow.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
