Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Sukhoi Su-7BM fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from Modelsvit. The model has finely engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and landing gear bay interior and clear canopy parts. The box usually also holds a loading trolley for the external stores. It is a short-run mold that deserves a more careful approach to cleaning up and fitting the parts.
The Su-7 was one of the key Soviet combat aircraft of the 1960s and carried the NATO code name Fitter. Originally intended as a fighter, it made its name above all in the fighter-bomber role, striking ground targets. The Su-7BM version received a more powerful engine and further changes and was built in large numbers; it served with the Soviet Air Force and in a number of friendly countries.
On a short-run mold, remove the flash and clean up the mating surfaces, and glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Finish the cockpit and the bays before you close up the fuselage. The natural metal surfaces of the rear fuselage come to life with metallic paint airbrushed over a smooth gloss base; a thin panel line wash will pick out the engraved detail.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
