This is a resin detail set from CMK, not a submarine model. The set brings together two compartments of the hull, the officers' ward room (mess) and the adjoining ship's galley, including the fittings, the furniture and the watertight bulkheads for an open interior on the model.
On board an ocean-going Type IX submarine, meals had to be cooked for the whole crew in a tiny space, even during long patrols. The officers' mess served for eating as well as for work, and the galley with its fully used fittings was the heart of the daily life of the boat.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash and degrease them. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. A combination of light surfaces, metallic shades and a fine wash will bring out the fittings and give the interior life.
This is an aftermarket resin accessory, not a submarine model. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
