Tamiya AS-8 Navy Blue (aircraft spray, 100 ml)

An aircraft lacquer spray from Tamiya's AS line, intended for painting plastic aircraft models. It is a synthetic lacquer ready for immediate use – with no thinning and no airbrush, the spray goes straight on. The Navy Blue shade represents the dark blue of the US Navy with which carrier aircraft were painted during the Second World War (above all in the later uniform dark blue scheme). The can holds 100 ml of lacquer and dries to a flat finish suited to naval schemes of the period.

Use

• Painting plastic aircraft models, above all US Navy carrier machines of the Second World War.
• Spray from a distance of about 25–30 cm from the model.
• Apply in several thin coats, letting each dry – this prevents runs and preserves the engraved detail.
• The best adhesion comes on clean plastic or over a primer.
• Shake the can for several tens of seconds before use and spray in a well-ventilated area.
