Vallejo Burnt Umber - pigment

This is a loose, very finely ground pigment in a dark brown earthy shade, intended for weathering and aging surfaces. The pigments are made of natural and synthetic colorants that are lightfast and they mix easily with one another.

Use

  • Applied dry with a brush straight onto the model for the effect of deposits of earth, mud and working grime.
  • It can be fixed with a suitable thinner or fixer for a more permanent hold, for instance when imitating dried mud.
  • It combines well with other pigments to achieve transitions and shades.
  • The dark brown tone suits earthy deposits, wood and rusty surfaces.

Who it is for

It will be appreciated by modelers of military vehicles, dioramas and figures who want to age the surface of a model realistically.

This is a fine powder; do not breathe it in and work in a ventilated space, out of the reach of children.
