Dark Green

The dark green shade

Dark Green is a dark green acrylic paint from the Game Air line by Vallejo. It finds a use everywhere a green is meant to act deep and sunk into shadow: on the cloaks and clothing of figures, on the green parts of armor and shields, on wooden and cloth accessories and on the growth of a base. It serves equally well as a dark ground under lighter greens, because over a dark ground the lights built up step by step stand out more markedly than over a white one.

What the Game Air line offers

Game Air is the airbrush branch of the Vallejo fantasy lines. The paints are water-thinnable acrylics that can be mixed with one another and with the other acrylics of the same manufacturer, so you can mix the transitional shades yourself. The pigment settles in the bottle, so shake the contents thoroughly before every use; badly mixed paint sprays unevenly and the shade differs between the first and the last pass.

Application tips

Choose several thin coats rather than one heavy one, or the paint will flood the fine relief of the surface. Wash and degrease the part before spraying; a base color under the shade improves both the adhesion and the covering. When spraying, work at a lower pressure and a greater distance of the nozzle if you want a soft transition. With a brush, apply the paint in coats as well and let each one dry. Rinse the airbrush and the brushes out right after the work, while the paint has not dried.
