A fluorescent yellow model paint from the Vallejo Premium Color line. Intended for warning areas and markings that have to be seen from a distance.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fluorescent yellow differs from ordinary yellow in what it does with light. Its pigment converts part of the incoming radiation into light of its own color, so in daylight the shade looks as though it were glowing by itself. Next to an ordinary yellow it looks almost unnaturally saturated, and that is exactly the point, because a color of that saturation marks what has to be seen before anything else. This type has nothing in common with glow-in-the-dark paint, which charges in light and glows in the dark.
It suggests itself anywhere the shade is meant to call for attention: warning stripes and the markings of training machines, items of rescue equipment, working machines, road equipment, and further modern racing cars and motorcycles, and not least the small details in a scene that are meant to lead the viewer's eye. It also finds a use on models from the world of sport and leisure.
Fluorescent pigments cover weakly, so lay the area in white first. Over a gray or dark base the shade goes out and the paint loses the very spark it is bought for. Stir the bottle properly before use and apply several thin coats with drying in between. Better not to display a finished model in direct sunlight, as fluorescent shades tend to be less stable than ordinary pigments and fade over time. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging for thinning and for cleaning the tools.
The paint is supplied on its own. A primer, thinner, varnish and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
