Vallejo Liquid Mask (200 ml)

This is a liquid masking fluid, not a paint and not a model. It is applied with a brush to areas that are to stay uncovered while spraying or to keep their original color, typically the cockpit glazing, soft camouflage transitions, chrome-plated and polished parts or the dividing line between colors. Once dry it forms a flexible rubbery film that you simply peel off after painting to reveal the clean surface underneath. Its advantage over masking tape is that it flows precisely around intricate and curved shapes that tape is hard to form to. Volume 200 ml; made by Vallejo.

Use

• The base must be clean, degreased and dry; apply the fluid with a brush in a thin continuous coat, or in two coats on larger areas.
• Let it dry thoroughly into a flexible film that is dry to the touch, and only then spray the paint.
• Apply the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge of the mask.
• Once the paint is dry, lift the film with a point and peel or pull it off carefully; small residues can be rubbed away.
• For a soft camouflage transition, apply the fluid at a distance from the surface (for example over a raised mask) so that the edge is not sharp.

Who it is for

For modelers masking curved glazing, chrome and soft camouflage transitions where ordinary tape will not sit. The work is easy and a beginner can manage it.

Wash the brush out with water immediately after use, before the fluid dries, as a dried film is hard to get out of a brush. Store at normal room temperature, away from frost and direct sunlight, and close the bottle well. Keep out of the reach of children.
