Stainless Steel Silver is a light silver shade with metallic particles which imitates stainless steel. Compared with an ordinary silver it is cooler and less white, so the surface does not read as fresh aluminum foil but as brushed stainless steel. The shade belongs to the anniversary Little Armory Color range, put together for the tenth anniversary and aimed at models of small arms, where light steel appears precisely on barrels, bolts and blades.
On the metal parts of models of weapons and tools, on exhausts and shades, on kitchen and workshop equipment in scenes and on small accessories for figures. It also serves as a light metal for drybrushing, where it is used only to suggest edges, wear and the places where metal has shown through a darker surface.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use so that the metallic particles settled at the bottom disperse. Metallic shades give every unevenness away, so smooth and degrease the base beforehand and apply the paint in thin coats. Thin it with the thinner intended for the Mr.Color range; this range is not thinned with water. With a brush, draw in one direction so that the metallic particles lie the same way and the surface does not look blotchy. Apply masking tape to a metallic surface only once it is completely dry, and it is better to reduce the tack of the tape first.
For builders of models of weapons, figures, vehicles and scenes who need a light metallic shade. The paint alone is supplied. The thinner, a brush and an airbrush are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
