N092 Clear Orange Gloss

The color

Clear Orange Gloss is a transparent gloss orange from the Acrysion range. It behaves differently from an ordinary paint: it does not cover, it tints. What is underneath stays visible and the paint only lends it a shade, so the result always depends on what lies below. Over silver it gives the impression of painted metal, over white a glowing orange, and on a clear part colored glass that keeps its transparency.

Where it is useful

Most often on clear parts, that is, on marker lights, turn signals, beacons and instrument covers. It also serves well for tinting metal areas and for suggesting the heat discoloration of exhausts and nozzles, where the orange is layered with other transparent shades. On robot models it is used on energy elements and translucent parts.

Application tips

• The saturation is governed by the number of coats, not by the strength of one; lay them on thinly and let each one dry.
• The surface underneath must be smooth and glossy, over a flat or sanded one the paint loses its transparency.
• Do not mix it with opaque shades, as an addition of white or gray turns a transparent paint murky.
• Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio as the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging say, a thinner for another type of paint can curdle the film.
• Work on clear parts with a glove on, fingerprints show under a transparent coat.

Who it is for

For modelers of cars, aircraft and robots who need a colored light or tinted metal and do not want to paint it with an opaque color. The thinner, the primer and the clear coat are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
