Painta Professional Brush - Size 5/0

Revell Painta Professional, size 5/0 brush

This is not a model or a paint but a tool. It is a single round brush in the very fine size 5/0, thin enough that you paint element by element with it. The fiber is synthetic, the manufacturer calls it Konex Gold and credits it with good paint pickup and release and with holding its shape even after frequent use. The handle has a triangular section, so it does not roll on the bench and tires the hand less during long sessions. The tip is drawn out to a very fine point, and the whole purpose of this brush follows from it.

Use

• instrument panels, levers, dials and small cockpit equipment
• insignia, warning markings and small color elements that the decals do not cover
• finishing details after the airbrush and fixing spots where a decal did not settle
• spot weathering effects, for example rust in rivets and chipped paint on edges
• thin the paint a little more than for areas, as thick paint flows badly from such a fine tip

Who it is for

For modelers who finish details and need a brush that keeps its point even after the tenth use. Synthetic fiber takes acrylics and repeated washing better than a fine natural hair. After work, wash the brush thoroughly with water or the matching thinner and let it dry lying flat, so the point does not splay and water does not run into the ferrule.

The brush is not meant for mixing paint or for applying putty and glue; that is the fastest way to ruin it. Paints, thinner and cleaner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
