A marker is the quickest way to get paint onto a small area. You do not have to set up an airbrush, thin anything or wash a brush; it is enough to take the cap off and draw. On a model pink comes into its own where an area is meant to be set apart at first glance: on small markings and lettering, on infills and the insides of covers, on the accessories of figures and on parts where the shade is meant to separate clearly from its surroundings. The numeral in the name distinguishes one shade from another within the same line.
Before first use prepare the marker according to the instructions on the packaging. With goods of this kind it is usually shaken and the tip pressed down against a support several times, so that the paint comes all the way to the point. Apply in short strokes guided in one direction and lay the next coat down only once the previous one has dried, otherwise the tip will pull the lower coat away. Before you go over an area painted with something else, try the compatibility of the two coats on a hidden place. Press the cap firmly home after work; the tip dries out faster than you would expect and a point that has dried out once cannot be put right again.
A marker covers a large area badly, as the strokes give themselves away on it; for an overall finish it is better to reach for a bottle. On a smooth and greasy surface the paint holds less well, so degrease the place beforehand. Store the marker horizontally or tip down, so that the paint stays at the point.
The model, other shades, thinner and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
