Premium RC Metallics Set brings the metallic tones together. What makes them special are the fine reflective particles dispersed in the binder: light bounces off them at various angles, and the surface therefore changes its appearance depending on where you look at the model from. This is not a paint you can judge from one position.
The uses are wide. Bodies with a metallic finish, exhaust systems, metal parts of armament, robotic structures and accessories where the difference between painted plastic and metal is meant to be clear at first glance. Combining them with opaque tones works well, because a metallic paint next to a matte area stands out far more than it does on its own.
The reflective particles are heavier than pigment, so they settle to the bottom faster. Stir the contents thoroughly before every time you take paint out, and repeat it during longer sessions. The nozzle of the airbrush should be on the wider side; the particles clog a narrow nozzle and the flow then skips.
The ground decides the final depth. A dark base gives the shade a graver, cooler character, a light one makes it glow. Lay the coats on finely and do not overwork them, or the particles will line up unevenly and the area will keep streaks that no further pass will hide.
Once it is dry, do not polish the surface over with a cloth, as that is more likely to make the metal impression disappear than to bring it out. If you want a higher gloss, lay a gloss varnish over the finish; a matte varnish, by contrast, calms a metallic paint down to a semi-metal look that suits worn equipment.
