A set of opaque basic shades from the Premium line. Intended for an airbrush, that is as a starting palette for bodies, hulls and large areas.

Premium RC Opaque Basics Set gathers the opaque part of the palette into a single package. The point of a set like this is practical: anyone starting out with an airbrush on bodies and large areas needs the tones that will reliably cover the ground first, and only then reaches for metallics, glazes and glowing effects.
Opaque shades have a higher proportion of pigment than transparent ones, so fewer coats are enough for an area and the edges of a part do not get clogged. At the same time they can be mixed with one another without losing their covering power, and with a set of this kind that is the main thing it adds. From the basic tones you can mix shades that are not available on their own.
It pays to set up a color chart of your own. Spray each tone onto the same piece of plastic, label it on the back and keep the samples, because paint in the bottle looks different from paint dried on a part. With mixed shades, write the ratio down; without a record you will not hit the same tone a second time, and spraying a whole body again because of a deviation is a nuisance.
It is applied in thin passes with time to flash off between them. Set the consistency on a test piece, not straight on the model, because every airbrush has a different nozzle and a different pressure. When the work is over, rinse the airbrush out at once, while the paint in it is still wet.
The set is strongest in the role of a working foundation. Glowing, metallic and transparent shades are bought as a given plan requires, whereas a modeler goes through the opaque tones on every project, so a larger container really does get used.
