A thin-walled replacement for the plates that on models of the heavy tank are usually rendered in thick plastic is brought by the printed set 1:35 King Tiger front and rear fenders.
Responsibility details are not available.
A fender is a plate a few millimeters thick, yet in an injection mold it comes out as a slab many times thicker. This set from BSK Model addresses that mismatch: the printed plates are around four tenths of a millimeter thick, with the edge thinner still by half, so the edge seen from the side looks like sheet metal rather than a plank. The material is flexible, so that a small slip during the build does not show up as a crack.
The Tiger II, nicknamed Königstiger, was the heaviest serially deployed German tank of the Second World War. It weighed around seventy tons, carried an 88 millimeter gun with a long barrel, and its frontal armor was essentially impenetrable. The front fenders without stiffening ribs, which the set captures, belonged to machines from production before February 1945 and were carried by Jagdtiger tank destroyers as well.
Brackets for the side skirts are usually included too, some of them with the heads of bolts suggested. Fit them according to the spacing on the actual hull and keep checking that the row of brackets is not wavy. A bent or torn-off fender is a common sight on heavy tanks, so do not be afraid to bend one plate slightly.
The kit of the tank is not part of this item.
