A plastic kit of the American fighter aircraft Vultee P-66 Vanguard in 1:48 scale. A little-known single-seat fighter with a radial engine.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vultee P-66 Vanguard is an American single-seat fighter aircraft of the late 1930s: an all-metal low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear and a radial piston engine. The early machines had a streamlined engine cowling with a large propeller spinner, but such a solution worsened the cooling and was abandoned in service. It was built for a foreign order, which was stopped by an export ban, and the finished aircraft therefore found their way elsewhere: most of them ended up serving in China, while others stayed in the United States with training units. The Vanguard never made a great career, and that is exactly why it is a subject you will not meet in an ordinary display case.
A Dora Wings plastic kit in 1:48 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The exact contents of the package, the number of parts and the color schemes offered are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
On a machine with a radial engine, the nose of the model decides the result: the engine is visible through the cowling, and so it is worth giving it time before you close the cowling up. Check the seating of the landing gear legs as well, so that the model stands level and both wheels touch the surface at the same time. Mask the canopy glazing before painting. Keep the wear restrained: the walkway areas at the wing root and the area around the exhausts will do more than rubbing the whole airframe down all over.
For modelers with experience of building aircraft who are drawn to less usual subjects. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
