A figure of a US Air Force female pilot in a standing pose, in 1:32 scale, intended for models of the F-5E/F and RF-5E aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure shows a US Air Force female pilot in flight gear, in a standing pose. An addition of this kind does more with a finished model than you would expect: it gives it a scale the viewer understands at once, and it turns an aircraft standing on its own into a small scene. The figure is intended for the F-5E/F and RF-5E machines, that is, for light combat aircraft and their reconnaissance version.
The set is in 1:32 scale and the parts are resin. Resin allows finer shaping of the folds of clothing and gear than is usual with ordinary figures in kits, but in return it calls for a different preparation. The exact contents of the package and the recommended steps are given by the manufacturer's instructions. It is a good idea to stand the figure dry beside the finished model first and find a place for it where it does not hide the most interesting part of the aircraft.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the primer holds poorly and flakes off during handling. Cut off surplus material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand down the rest; polystyrene cement has no effect here, so use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). With figures it is the face and the soft transitions of shadow on the gear that decide, so apply the paint in several thin coats.
The set is for modelers who build an aircraft as a scene rather than as a standalone object, and it also suits a finished model that is already standing in a display case. The aircraft model is not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
