A Sherman tank commander from the Pacific theater of the Second World War, which the abbreviation PTO in the designation refers to. The fighting on the islands was a different job for tank crews than in Europe: the vehicles pushed through vegetation and mud, the going was slow and in close cooperation with infantry, and the heat and damp let no relief inside the hull. A captured trophy is part of the figure, a small thing that gives a scene a story.
One figure in 1:35 scale, that is in the scale in which most armored vehicle kits are built. An adult figure in it measures around five centimeters. A commander leaning out of a hatch is the cheapest way to give a tank life and scale alike: the viewer immediately judges how big the vehicle is, and the figure's gaze also shows where to look at that moment.
Before gluing, check what material the figure is made of, because ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on anything other than polystyrene and only cyanoacrylate glue will hold the joint. Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off, then wash and degrease the surface. Try the fit into the hatch dry: the shoulders have to come above the rim and the elbows to rest naturally, not hang in the air. If you pack the figure up from below, do it with a material that can be adjusted later. Paint the figure away from the model, leave the face for last and set the trophy apart by its surface, so that it does not merge with the equipment at first glance.
