Mirage Hobby Chisel Blade No. 4 is a pack of five spare chisel blades with a straight transverse edge.
Responsibility details are not available.
Five spare blades from the Polish brand Mirage Hobby in a chisel design. Shape No. 4 has no tip but a straight transverse edge across the whole width of the blade. The tool is therefore not drawn along like a scalpel, but pushed forward, removing material in layers. That is exactly what you need where the tip of a scalpel digs into the surface and leaves a groove.
Hold the blade almost flat and push it away from you in short passes, not in one deep one. The edge follows the surface on its own, so it pays not to rush and to take off thin shavings. Do not apply force sideways, because a chisel blade is wide and will snap when levered. You will know a dull blade by the fact that it crushes the material instead of paring it, and then it is time to replace it. A straight edge cannot be resharpened to its original geometry at home.
For modelers who want to remove surplus plastic without grooves and without lengthy sanding, and for builders who work on large flat surfaces. A chisel also suits places where sanding is not an option, because abrasive paper would level the surrounding engraved detail that is meant to be preserved. The blades are sharp across their whole width, so store them out of the reach of children and carry them in the packaging.
