de Havilland Mosquito FB.VI 1:144 from Mark I Models is a small plastic kit of the British fighter-bomber with its assembled wooden airframe - nicknamed the Wooden Wonder.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in the small 1:144 scale from Mark I Models. The subject is the fighter-bomber version FB Mk.VI of the famous British de Havilland Mosquito. The subtitle Wooden Fighter-Bomber refers to the actual structure of the real machine - the Mosquito was built largely of wood. The small scale makes the model an ideal piece for a collector's display case as well as for dioramas where an aircraft is needed in a compact size.
The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito was a British multirole combat aircraft of the Second World War with a pair of Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines. Its airframe was built almost entirely of wood, which earned it the nickname Wooden Wonder - the light and fast structure made it one of the fastest aircraft of its time. The FB Mk.VI version was the most widespread variant; as a fighter-bomber it carried cannon, machine guns, bombs and rockets and became famous for low-level strikes, raids on enemy airfields and attacks on ground and naval targets.
In 1:144 scale the parts are small - work with a sharp knife, tweezers and a thin plastic cement. Apply a thin primer before painting and spray the camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats of thinned paint. Apply the small decals onto a gloss coat and seal them with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
