Fairchild Swearingen C-26A Metroliner 1:72 - Sova Model (the military version)

A short-run injection-molded kit of the military version of the aircraft Fairchild Swearingen C-26A Metroliner in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Sova Model. The C-26A is the military derivative of the civil regional airliner Metro III; compared with the civil SA-227AC version (a separate product) it differs above all in its user and markings - it served with the American National Guard and other services for liaison and transport duties.

The real subject

The Metroliner is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a very slim, long fuselage. The military C-26A derives from the Metro III version and the American armed services used it above all as a light liaison and transport machine for support duties. Besides the USA, similar machines served with other operators as well.

Building and painting tips

Fill and sand the long smooth fuselage carefully, so that the joints are not visible on the single-color military finishes. Apply a primer before painting, lay the paints down with an airbrush and settle the decals onto a gloss coat.
