1:35 Mosin Rifle (6 pcs)

The Mosin rifle in 1:35 scale, six pieces

A set of six Mosin rifles for models and dioramas in 1:35 scale. This bolt-action repeating rifle in 7.62x54 R was among the most widespread small arms of the Russian and Soviet infantry and stayed in service through both world wars. Six pieces in the package will cover a whole squad of figures or weapons laid out around a vehicle.

Where the set is used

A weapon molded together with a figure tends to be pressed against the body, with the stock merging into the hand. A separate part can be placed in the hand in a natural position, propped against the wall of a trench, laid on a fender or stacked into a tripod. It is exactly such small things that give a diorama its scale and show that the scene was built, not just glued together.

Building and painting tips

• Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off.
• The barrel and the stock are slender, so lift and carry the parts with tweezers of a soft grip.
• Wash and degrease the weapons before painting, otherwise the base coat will not hold.
• Paint the wood of the stock with a glaze over a brown base and leave the metal darker and matte.
• They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in the smallest possible amount.

Who the set is for

For builders of figures and dioramas from the Eastern Front and from the First World War who are short of a convincing small arm in 1:35 scale. It also comes into its own where a weapon needs to be set down rather than held. The particular execution and the extent of the parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

The package holds six rifles. Figures, a vehicle model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
