The figures of temple guards and knights of an order have a settled look in fantastical worlds: a light robe over polished armor, gold ornament on the edges and heraldic blue on a shield or a cloak. The eight bottles in this package aim at exactly such a figure and deal with it from the flesh to the last decorative strip.
The basis is made by Off-White for fabrics and cloak areas, Silver for plate armor and blades, Glorious Gold for trim, clasps and symbols, Electric Blue for heraldic items and Dark Fleshtone for the face and the bare hands. The three washes Sepia Wash, Blue Wash and Black Wash then settle the whole figure into shadow.
How the palette works on a figure
The assortment is put together so that nothing further has to be bought for an ordinary figure: the covering paints and the shading solutions are in one package and are keyed to each other. They are laid on with a brush in thin coats, where the first coat is rather to even the tone out and only the second to cover. The wash is let into the recesses, the excess is drawn off with a dry brush, and when the edges are finally brought out with a lighter tone mixed from the white, the figure gains depth even under ordinary gaming light.
