Gunze Mr.Color Spray S061 Burnt Iron (lacquer aerosol, 40 ml)

A lacquer spray from the Mr.Color range of the Japanese brand Gunze. Burnt Iron is a metallic paint for realistic burnt metal – dark iron with a fine shift toward violet and brown, the kind heat creates on hard-worked parts. A 40 ml package, applied straight from the aerosol without an airbrush.

Use

• Before use shake thoroughly for 1–2 minutes – the metallic pigment settles to the bottom.
• Spray thin, even coats from a distance of about 25 cm, rather several light coats than one thick one.
• It comes out best on a smooth surface; a metallic finish emphasizes any unevenness.
• Ideal for exhausts, barrels after firing, brake discs and silencers – everywhere metal is meant to look heat-discolored.
• Apply metallic paints at the end of the build; the effect can be fine-tuned with tinting varnishes or pigments.

For modelers who want to create realistic scorched, heat-discolored metal quickly without an airbrush – on aircraft, tanks, cars, motorcycles and figures. The paint itself gives the basic burnt tone, which you can build up further with smoke or clear varnishes.

Mr.Color is a lacquer – the solvent can attack bare plastic, so spray in thin coats. Work only in a well-ventilated space or outdoors and use a respirator. Flammable, do not spray near an open flame. In damp or cold conditions the surface may bloom white.
