Responsibility details are not available.
A publication from Kagero's naval line. The name names a particular vessel, the Italian torpedo motorboat MAS.15.
The abbreviation MAS denoted small Italian motorboats with torpedo armament that came about during the First World War. They were tiny vessels with a wooden hull, high speed and a very small crew, meant for quick sorties in the coastal waters of the Adriatic. The MAS.15 is among the best known units of the whole category, because she took part in an attack on a large surface ship in 1918. The boat herself has survived and is kept as a historical exhibit.
Unlike large ships, small vessels are built in larger scales, so a model of a MAS is not a miniature trifle but a clearly visible object with a visible deck structure, torpedo armament and wooden features. At the same time it is a splendid subject for a display cabinet with limited room and for the modeler who wants a rest from big gray ships. Literature focused directly on one particular vessel is especially useful with boats this small, because general surveys as a rule never get round to them.
This is a printed publication. It is not a kit and not an accessory; the package holds no parts for building.
