Spraying a pattern onto a model that fits in your palm needs support. Paint masks for military vehicle models in 1:72 bring stencils for the camouflage schemes of modern tanks and armoured vehicles, double-sided window cover sets for trucks, and markings that would be very hard to paint by brush at this size.
Camouflage stencils pay off twice over at 1:72, because a hand-drawn edge looks coarse on a small vehicle; the patterns suit 1:72 military vehicle kits. General advice on pressing edges down and spraying thin coats is under paint masks for military vehicles. For markings a mask cannot cover, use 1:72 armour decals.
