Pickaxes for German vehicles of the Second World War in 1:48 scale. Four printed parts that will replace the coarse plastic tools on the fenders and the sides of the cargo bed.

A set of four pickaxes for German vehicles of the Second World War in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory, not a model: the parts are made by 3D printing from resin and replace the pioneer tools, which in a kit tend to be molded in a simplified way or straight in one piece with the fender.
Shovels, axes and pickaxes were part of the required equipment of almost every military vehicle. Crews used them to free bogged-down wheels, to dig shelters and to prepare approaches. On a model they are visible at once, because they lie on the outer surfaces and a viewer looks them over before anything inside. A thin neck on the haft and clearly separated edges make the difference between a nicely built model and a model that looks like the real thing.
Cut the original tools molded on the fender away with a scalpel and smooth the area with fine abrasive paper. Separate the new parts from the supports and glue them on with super glue. A wooden haft looks better when brown oil paint is drawn over an ocher base and pulled along the grain with a brush. A metal head takes a dark base and light drybrushing in a steel shade.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
