A cast resin set of accessories for the British Scammell Pioneer SV2S heavy recovery tractor in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Black Dog. It holds separate parts of equipment, tools and cargo for the body and cab of a finished model. As base kit it names the Scammel Pioneer SV2S from IBG. The set is not a model of the vehicle.
The Scammell Pioneer was a British heavy truck with 6x4 drive and a balanced rear bogie that coped with very rough ground. The SV2S version was the recovery variant: it carried a slewing crane with a capacity of several tons, winches and a tool box, and it served workshop companies for hauling out and towing damaged vehicles. The machines accompanied British units from Africa all the way to Germany.
First rinse the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-tooth saw rather than snapping them. Sanding is better done under water or with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic will not hold on resin. A primer is needed before painting. The tools and wire ropes on a recovery vehicle gain most from strong metallic sheen and rust.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
