Replacement tools and brackets for the Tiger I heavy tank in 1:35 scale clear the sides of the hull of coarsely suggested shapes and replace them with castings and clips.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set for the best-known German heavy tank. The resin castings carry a more three-dimensional shape than injection-molded plastic, and the photo-etched clips have a thickness matching real sheet metal. They serve to finish off a model, and the machine itself is sold separately.
The heavy tank with the 88 mm gun was built from the middle of 1942 and became a symbol of German armored strength, even though the number of completed machines stayed low compared with the medium types. The stowage of the pioneer equipment changed several times during production, among other reasons because of the protective paste applied to the armor and because of other elements that took up room on the sides of the hull. That is exactly why early and late vehicles can be told apart even by small things such as the position of the hammer or the jack. Anyone who builds from a period photograph will save themselves regluing later.
Cut the suggested tools off the model with a flat chisel and sand the armor smooth. Get the grease off the surface of the castings, otherwise the paint will not hold even after a primer has been sprayed. Bend the photo-etched straps exactly to the outline of the tool and fix them with a spot of thin cyanoacrylate glue. Separate the dark metal from the wood in color and tie the whole together with a brown wash, which will run in under the clips and create a shadow.
