The FAB-250 is a Soviet high-explosive aerial bomb of the weight class of approximately two hundred fifty kilograms, and the M-54 version corresponds to a body of the 1950s. The TU-250 retarding tail unit was fitted to the rear of the bomb and deployed a parachute after release. This gave an aircraft the option of dropping bombs from a very low altitude: the weapon slowed, fell behind the aircraft and the burst came only at a safe distance, so the pilot did not endanger his own machine.
Bombs are painted off the model and fitted only at the end. After washing off the print resin residue, apply a thin base, then the main shade and finally a dark wash, which will draw out the seams and bolts. Do the lettering and the color bands on the body of the bomb with masking tape or a fine brush, not freehand. Under the pylons we recommend only fitting the bombs dry and checking whether they clash with the landing gear and the flaps, and gluing them only then. Do not glue printed resin with cement for plastic; it will not hold.
