This is a book, not a kit. This title is volume number 24 of the flagship Airframe and Miniature series of the British publisher Valiant Wings Publishing. The volumes in the series are divided into a part on the airframe (development, variants, technical description, detail photographs and camouflage) and a modeling part (available kits, built models, surveys of accessories, masks and decals). The author is Richard A. Franks. It takes in the fighter, reconnaissance and late versions.
After the A bomber series the Junkers Ju 88 developed into a whole family of machines with quite different work. The C version was given a solid, unglazed nose with cannon and became a heavy fighter, the D version a reconnaissance machine with cameras instead of bombs. The best known is the G series, a night fighter with radar and prominent antennas above the nose, which was among the greatest threats to the British night bombing offensive. The P version carried a heavy weapon in the nose against bomber formations, the S version was a lightened fast bomber and the T series was reconnaissance again. It is evidence of how adaptable the design of the Junkers Ju 88 was.
For modelers of the fighter, night and reconnaissance Ju 88. Watch out for the pair of volumes: this is part 2 from the C version to the T series, while the bomber prototypes V1 to A-17 and the B series are dealt with by a separate part 1, volume number 23.
