A 3D printed (resin) cockpit set for the French Dassault Rafale B multirole fighter in 1:48 scale, in the Detailed version. The set is meant to replace the cabin of the base injection-molded Hobby Boss kit – it is not a standalone airplane model. The Detailed version brings finely modeled instrument panels ready to be painted by hand to your own taste.
It replaces the original cockpit of the kit with a faithfully worked tub, instrument panel, side console and ejection seat with detail the kit parts do not reach. On a finished model the Rafale's cabin is markedly visible, so working it out raises the overall impression fundamentally.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, separate them from the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways while sanding. The Detailed version reckons with painting the panels by hand – use a primer, thin coats of paint from an airbrush, bring the instruments to life with shading, a dry brush and a drop of gloss varnish on the displays.
This is a detail accessory for experienced modelers, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
