A resin set of separate American steel M1 helmets from the period of the Second World War, fitted with a camouflage cover and net. The maker is Mantis Miniatures. It is not a kit or a model of hardware but a set of detailed accessories in 1:35 scale meant for dressing figures, dioramas and vignettes.
Use the loose helmets as gear set aside on the ground, hung on a belt, on a crate or on a vehicle, or use them to replace the poorer helmets of the original figures. The camouflage cover with its characteristic texture adds realism and helps place a scene in the right period and theater.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand them over lightly with your breathing protected. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; then bring out the cover with shades of olive and khaki, a wash into the recesses and a gentle dry brush on the edges.
The set is supplied as unpainted resin castings. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package.
