The Flyhawk photo-etched detail set for the battleship Fuso in 1:700 scale refines the superstructures, the pagoda mast and the armament with brass photo-etched parts. Intended for the Aoshima 39076 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a ship kit but a photo-etched detail set. The set is meant for fitting out a model of the Japanese battleship Fuso in 1:700 scale and holds brass photo-etched parts for refining her characteristic tall pagoda superstructure, the railings, the ladders, the platforms, the radars and the anti-aircraft armament. Faithful photo-etched parts replace simplified plastic features and markedly raise the realism of the model. The set is intended for the Aoshima 39076 kit.
Fuso was the lead ship of the class of the same name of the Imperial Japanese Navy and became known for her extremely tall, multi-tier pagoda superstructure. She took part in the closing battles of the war in the Pacific and was lost in the Battle of Surigao Strait in 1944. Her silhouette is among the most striking of any battleship.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp scalpel, form them with a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Build the intricate pagoda superstructure tier by tier and keep checking that it stays upright. Degrease everything before painting and go over it with primer; an airbrush in a Japanese naval gray gives the best result.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
