1:24 Mercedes SLS GT3 - HTP Nogaro 2014 Decals Set (for Fujimi Kits)

The real subject

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 is the racing version of the coupe with a long hood, a naturally aspirated V8 mounted at the front and doors that open upward. Compared with the road car it was given wider fenders, a large rear wing and a flat floor, but the silhouette stayed unmistakable. Cars of this type raced all over Europe in the hands of private teams and each of them had its own color scheme, so it is precisely the decals that decide which particular machine will stand on your shelf. This sheet covers the car of the HTP team as it looked at the races at Nogaro in 2014.

What the sheet contains

A complete decal sheet for one car in 1:24 scale: the race numbers, the lettering of the team partners and the areas of the color scheme of the body. The sheet is prepared for Fujimi kits, so the outlines match the shapes of their SLS model. The placement of the individual decals is shown by the enclosed diagram.

How to apply the decals

First coat the body perfectly and polish it, as on a matte surface a white veil would remain around the decals. Cut the decal out close to the outline, soak it in lukewarm water, let it rest for a moment and slide it off the backing paper onto the dampened area. You fine-tune the position with a soft brush and draw the excess water off with a tissue. On the curves of the fenders and around the rear wing softener helps, so that the decal settles without folds. Once it is dry, coat the car with clear coat, which hides the edges of the decals.
