A decal set of late-war Luftwaffe national crosses for the Bf 109 and the Fw 190 in 1:48 scale from the Tiger Head Models brand. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds printed decals of national crosses in 1:48 scale, prepared in shape for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters in their late Second World War form. There are no plastic or resin parts in the package — the sheet is a pure accessory for a kit, which the modeler obtains separately.
The national crosses went through several changes of form during the war. In the later period simplified shapes with narrower fields and reduced contrast were used, which differ from the early variants in their proportions and in their overall area. The decals from kits tend to be inaccurate in this respect or cover only one version, so a separate sheet of crosses is a practical solution: the modeler chooses the form matching the period in which the machine is being built and does not have to rely on the single sheet supplied. The set is also useful as a replacement when a decal from a kit is damaged during application.
Crosses belong among the most watched elements of a model, because any deviation in position shows at once. It pays to measure the distance from the trailing edge and from the edge of the fuselage and to mark the position out in pencil on the gloss varnish first. Move the decal onto a moistened surface, so that it can still be shifted. Once dry, check the symmetry from both sides of the model against each other, and only then fix the whole with varnish.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
