The set from Trumpeter contains several small models of the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II fighter in 1:700 scale. It serves to fill out the flight decks and hangars of aircraft carrier and helicopter carrier kits in the same scale. The parts are injection-molded in plastic.
The F-35B Lightning II is the version of the modern fifth-generation fighter with short takeoff and vertical landing capability. That allows it to operate from lighter carriers and amphibious ships, and it is used among others by the US Marine Corps and the Royal Navy. The aircraft is distinguished by its reduced radar signature.
The parts are minute in this scale, so work with tweezers, a sharp knife and liquid cement for plastic. Clean the mold seam lines up carefully and spray the models with an airbrush or a fine brush in thin coats. The tail surfaces and the wings are among the most delicate parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
