A grass mat from the German maker HEKI from the decovlies line of a size of twenty-eight by fourteen centimeters. The fibers applied to a practically invisible carrier mesh can be torn into irregular pieces with no distinct edge. Hayfield is the variant keyed to yellow brown, that is to the color of grass that has ripened and is waiting to be cut. In a scene it settles the season at once: such a meadow belongs to high summer, not to spring.
On a new base apply glue from a spray can and press the mat down; on an already grassed area the fibers hold even without glue. A dry meadow will stand more than it seems: by all means let it grow over into ditches and alternate it irregularly with green islands where water would stand in the terrain. If you are building a scene with haymaking, leave part of the area bare and suggest the hay with thin rows of the same material.
For builders of rural layouts and dioramas and for modelers who want to place a scene at the end of summer. The yellow brown key combines well with the green variants of the line and with autumn shades alike. This is a modeling material, not a toy. The maker marks its landscaping goods as not suitable for children under fifteen years of age.
