Six weathered spruces fourteen to eighteen centimeters tall. Conifers with an irregular crown for forest edges and exposed parts of a scene.

Six conifers from the line of weather-beaten spruces. The crown is asymmetrical and thinned out, that is, the kind a tree exposed to wind and frost has. The small trees are finished and foliated, so they go straight into the terrain.
An irregular conifer belongs at the edge of a forest, on a mountain ridge, by a stream and at the margin of a clearing, where a tree was left on its own after its neighbors were felled. Six pieces are enough for a whole such margin: the two tallest in the middle, the rest around them, and all at once the forest no longer has a straight edge like a cut-out backdrop.
They suit layout builders and diorama modelers who want a forest with a believable margin and do not rely on bulk trees alone. A height of about fifteen centimeters makes them mature individuals in the smaller gauges, while in the larger gauges they serve as younger growth. The product is made in Germany and the shape of the crown is finished by hand. The core is an injection-molded plastic armature whose branches are bent before being foliated, so individual pieces differ in shape. When you need greater differences within a group, the trunk can be shortened and the lowest tier of branches removed; the tree then becomes an older individual with a high-set crown.
