Gauge Neutral Grass mat structured grass autumn, 190 x 300 mm

HEKI Textured Grass Mat, Autumn, 190x300 mm

A grass mat from the German maker HEKI measuring one hundred and ninety by three hundred millimeters in autumn coloring. The growth is textured, that is, it is not the same height or density across the whole area but alternates denser clumps with thinned-out patches. With autumn grass that property is even more useful than with green: dry growth in nature never dries out evenly, and an area of uniform height would look like a dyed carpet.

Use

• autumn meadows, grassy strips between fields and stubble fields
• areas where it should show that no mowing is done
• embankments, slopes and plot boundaries at the end of the season
• winter scenes without snow and a base under snow
• adding more varied sections to a uniform mat

How to work with the mat

Apply spray adhesive to a new base and press the mat down; on an area already grassed the fibers hold even without glue. Choose which part of the mat goes where: denser sections belong in hollows and by obstacles, thinned-out patches on crests and by lanes. Tear the pieces so that the break does not run through a prominent clump. Under snow, lay the mat as the lower layer and let the blades grow through in places.

Who the mat is for

For builders of autumn and winter layouts and dioramas and for modelers who are bothered by the uniformity of ordinary grass mats. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
